This week we take you on a Photowalk to one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Rio de Janeiro. Rio is not the capital and not even the biggest city of Brazil, but surely it’s the city that most of us think about first when we hear the name of the country.
Rio de Janeiro or simply Rio as most people call it, has so many different faces. Hearing its name, many people think about its spectacular carnival, while others think about its long beaches: the luxury beach of Ipanema or the beach of Copacabana where even nowadays barefoot children play football in the sand. Football plays a very important role in locals’ life, every neighborhood has its famous team (such as Flamengo or Botafogo), and Rio is also the home of the biggest stadium in South America, the emblematic Maracana Stadium.
As the city has so many faces, you can also photograph it from different angles. Our Photowalk concentrates on the panoramic view of the city, and in the focus there are always the two main symbols of city. The Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) which dominates the view of the bays, while from the top of the Corcovado mountain Christ the Redeemer looks down on the city, embracing it.
