As a sign of destiny we got to know Alfons, the owner of <strong>Hotel Andria<\/strong> and we decided to stay in his hotel. Hotel\u00a0Andria is one of these hotels that we can define as boutique, one of these charming places where tranquility can be perceived all the time.<\/p>\n<p>The history of the hotel dates back to the 19th century and inside the hotel we always bump into traces of its old history both in the rooms and the common spaces. Modernity is merged together with antiquity and every single object has its own history. Alfons will be happy to tell you the story of each one of them. One of the most impressive objects is an old telephone console which was in service till 1991, and according to Alfons it would still work if it were needed.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-859\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.surfingtheplanet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2014\/10\/DSC0772.jpg?strip=all&resize=1000%2C664\" alt=\"Old thelephone Hotel Andria La Seu D'Urgell\" width=\"1000\" height=\"664\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>The staff<\/h3>\n<p>Both Alfons and the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and they really make you feel at home. We had a really lovely experience with the\u00a0people working in\u00a0the Hotel Andria in <em>La Seu d&#8217;Urgell<\/em> and we are looking forward to go back there one day.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-861\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.surfingtheplanet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2014\/10\/DSC0776.jpg?strip=all&resize=1000%2C667\" alt=\"Hotel Andria La Seu D'Urgell\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>The room<\/h3>\n<p>We stayed in a room the windows of which overlooked the exterior gardens, and even though our room was exterior, we didn&#8217;t hear any noise during the night.<br \/>\nThe room and the bathroom are spacious and are totally renovated.<br \/>\nThe decoration is a perfect mixture of antique and modern, which transmits a sensation of peace and calmness.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-858\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.surfingtheplanet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2014\/10\/DSC0764.jpg?strip=all&resize=1000%2C667\" alt=\"Room Hotel Andria La Seu D'Urgell\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>The breakfast<\/h3>\n<p>The room where the breakfast is served is a small extension of the restaurant. It perfectly\u00a0fits with the boutique style of the rest of the hotel. The breakfast is really spectacular, a presentation of typical local products of high quality from the area of La Seu d&#8217;Urgell. The cold cuts, the cheese, the yoghurt are all local production and it&#8217;s not even necessary to say that they are excellent. The delicious cakes are made by Marion (Alfons&#8217;es sister), who is an amazing cook.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-862\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.surfingtheplanet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2014\/10\/20141004_095058.jpg?strip=all&resize=1000%2C667\" alt=\"breakfast Hotel Andria La Seu D'Urgell\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>The restaurant<\/h3>\n<p>The Hotel\u00a0Andria is very well known in the zone because of its restaurant, which even featured in the Michelin Guide in 2013. The cuisine is classic, most of the dishes are based on the traditional Catalan cuisine adapted to modern times. We had the occasion to try Mariona&#8217;s great cooking and really enjoyed it. They offer a daily menu for 15 euros on weekdays and 23 euros on the weekends.
